Craig Barnes - Principal Psychologist
Craig has experience in diagnosing and treating mood, anxiety and trauma-related disorders in children, adolescents and adults from many backgrounds and walks of life.
Additionally, Craig has special interests in the assessment and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and ASD; and male mental health – helping boys, teens, and men be their best.
Craig has previously worked in IT, pastoral ministry and social work. He has extensive experience in counselling and supporting people through their challenges to alleviate suffering and improve their quality of life. Of course, the credit for any gains belongs to the motivation and effort of the client. Still, he finds great satisfaction in playing an important role in initiating, assisting and guiding that process using his skills, training and life experience.
Craig is trained and experienced in the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) treatment approaches. He also integrates aspects of Positive Psychology, Schema Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) when required.
