The full fee is payable at the end of each session. Payments can be made by cash, Visa card or Mastercard.

Barnes Psychology can provide psychometric assessments and written reports for children (6-16 years) and adults (16-90 years). Please note there is no Medicare rebate available for psychometric reports.

Discounted fees for treatment sessions may be available to full-time students, retirees, clients receiving Centrelink or Disability Support Pension payments, or clients experiencing significant financial hardship.
Discounts
If you have a written referral to Barnes Psychology and mental health treatment plan from your GP you can claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. The full fee is payable at the time of your appointment, and the Medicare rebate will be credited to your nominated account. The Medicare rebate is currently $93.35 per session.
Many private health fund policies cover psychological services. Please check the details of your cover with your health fund provider.
Medicare & Health Fund Rebates
If it is not possible to make your appointment, please get in touch with us at least 48 hours before your appointment to reschedule. Of course, genuine emergencies can occur, but please consider that, unlike short GP appointments, the longer sessions reserved at a psychology practice cannot be filled at the last minute.
Late notice cancellations made within the 24-hour notice period will be charged at 50% of the full fee.
On the day of your appointment, if you don't make contact or show up for your appointment, the full fee is payable.
If you are running late for your appointment, the session will conclude at the scheduled time, and the full fee will be payable.
